Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

A healthier option to classic fried donuts are these baked cinnamon sugar donuts. They are incredibly tasty because they are fluffy, moist, and covered in a sweet cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C

Grease a donut pan and set it aside

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon

In another bowl, combine the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined

Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts spring back when touched

While the donuts are baking, mix together some additional sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl

As soon as the donuts come out of the oven, let them cool for a minute, then dip each one into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat them evenly

Transfer the coated donuts to a wire rack to cool completely

Serve and enjoy your delicious baked cinnamon sugar donuts!
